SALVATION PRAYER:LORD JESUS, I CONFESS WITH MY MOUTH THAT YOU ARE MY LORD, I BELIEVE IN MY HEART THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. ACCORDING TO ROMANS 10:9-10, I SAY THIS PRAYER BY FAITH IN JESUS NAME, AMEN. IF YOU SAID THIS PRAYER, YOU HAVE OPENED YOUR HEART TO JESUS AND RECEIVE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD. JESUS WANTS A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU AND HE LOVES YOU. SEEK JESUS AND HE WILL MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE, AND IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. JESUS WANTS TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND AND GOD CREATED YOU TO WORSHIP HIM AND ONLY HIM. HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER COMPREHEND. OPEN YOUR HEART TO JESUS, FALL INTO THE LOVING ARMS OF JESUS THROUGH PAIN AND SUFFERING AND HE WILL SHOW UP TO YOU AND HE WILL MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE. JESUS LOVES YOU. You are in the business of helping people in the most vulnerable time of they're lives, the loss of a loved one. You should do well to remember this, and act accordingly. By the admission of those Mortuaries that coordinate with you daily we were informed not to expect efficient communication from your business, and you met that expectation. You also failed to comfort those grieving by not assuring our family in 100 degree plus weather, that you would most certainly proved shade and chairs. In fact, the few chairs provided are also in need of a burial. The employees present at the service gave the impression that we needed to be expeditious, so they could begin their work as they wait in plain view in their work attire throughout our time there. To say that I would not recommend your business would be greatly understated, for you run a business for profit, and not for care. Go ahead and try and rebuttal my words - I have written the truth - maybe you can begin to change your practices to care for others as you profit from their grief.
Dear Mr. Quezada,
I am very sorry for your loss and am reaching out to you during this time of pain.
I am in receipt of your hurtful review accusing us of not caring for families. I have dedicated 33 years of my life to our community working at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, neglecting my own family, my personal doctor’s appointments and time with my children (because I care) about the families of our community. My entire family,
( staff) work along my side, long days, after business hours 7 days a week most days, continuously striving to manage and maintain our memorial park, without surrendering it to the State of California, because we CARE ABOUT ALL FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. In 2020, 2021, 2022, we operated all paperwork and calls from my personal living room, to keep up with the demand of the enforcement of Cemetery Law documentation, thus sacrificing the comfort of having a relaxing living room, again, because I genuinely care for the families of our community with all of my heart. Our entire humble staff, all family, work long hours, diligently donating our time to serve the families of Desert Lawn and all in our community that would choose our humble memorial park as a final resting place for their loved one. We are non- profit and only break even/ or less than, each month. In addition to the above, I personally pay for the telephone number to run the business of Desert Lawn, on my personal cell service plan, to again, save the cost of the landline expense. I pay for the line to assure that we can communicate with all families in need of burial, and or with a concern, and I do this because I CARE.
In lieu of a paid receptionist, to additionally budget our spending, we utilize our answering system, to retrieve messages as we assist and meet with families. We listen to our messages and return calls or access concerns provided, all day long, while in between families, during regular business hours, some times returning a call to a family within minutes of a message being left.
As we did for your family, we serve all families and accommodate them with the day and time to have their service, and in doing that we communicate to coordinate such. We DO NOT IGNORE, NOR NEGLECT A SINGLE CALL. As our recording states, we are unaware of a call coming in, if a message is not left. We are here running this business because we care, we are here to serve, and we return calls during the week promptly to assist all families. In reference to our staff standing in their uniform, off to the side, at your loved one’s service, their duty is to stand near by, to be ready for the mortuary crew to que them when a family is ready to witness the lowering of the casket.
In reference to your comment that they stand there in their uniform, my staff is in a uniform and not street clothing, to maintain professionalism.
In reference to your comment that we don’t care and don’t try to accommodate families with a caring approach, every family that we speak to, we speak to with a caring tender tone, with the love of our Heavenly Father, because we know that God is Love and Love Never Fails.
In reference to your comment that we don’t care about you in 100 degree weather, our canopy is the size of a car port and not a pop up tent. It is very difficult to manage our big canopy, and to move our canopy to every service to provide your family and all families the maximum amount of comfort, out of the hot sun. ( a pop up tent would be easier for us if we didn’t care.) We at Desert Lawn use the big canopy, again, because we care to provide the max amount of shade to each family. As it is standard for cemeteries to provide around 10-12 chairs, since 1959, we have provided 10 chairs and up to 15 when requested, for immediate family, and all other guests usually stand around behind the family, under the large canopy in which that we provide. I have personally enjoyed the comfort of our canopy at Desert Lawn when we buried my father, brother, son- in -love and uncle. My family had services in the heat of August, and I remained grateful for such a large canopy for my guests.
Again, our priority is to keep the cost down for the families of our community. Some families, such as yourself, misunderstand our intention and at times discourage us at such a high level from wanting to continue to serve, in despite of all of our efforts and we feel defeated with reviews of misunderstanding our caring intention. We have fought to stay in business solely to care for the families of our community.
I personally have family members in several other cemeteries and at times I have been saddened at the lack of care that I have received, lack of empathy and lack of beauty in the grounds with the brown/ crunchy grass at other cemeteries. With the above said, I would not intentionally attempt to hurt any business with a one star. To put a one star is the right of a consumer, however, one star ratings hurt our humble business and make it even harder to stay afloat. From the bottom of all of our hearts we are sorry that you were made to feel the way that you did, for this misunderstanding of our intention. We feel unfairly accused of not caring, when your words and comments are the opposite of each of our characters.
We did provide a LARGE CANOPY for your family to provide the maximum amount of shade that we could humanly possible in the 100 degree weather.
A review such as yours is intended to hurt our business, in which will ultimately affect the families in our community attempting to afford burial. This misunderstanding and unfair attack of our character is unfortunate.
In closing, please call me if you would like to meet with me in person. I would love to share my heart with you and introduce myself personally, and also introduce you to my family, that love and share this same compassion of service that I do, to the families in which that we serve.
Affably,
